Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies Adds Deborah Alford Hamilton in Delaware

Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies announced that government relations specialist Deborah Alford Hamilton has joined the firm’s Wilmington office where she will lead the group’s statewide efforts in Delaware.

Hamilton held several senior management and executive level positions within government and national energy companies. She previously served as Director of Delaware State’s Washington, D.C., office as the principal liaison and advisor for the governor and cabinet on federal issues. She also spent nearly 20 years at Texaco where she provided public and government relations counsel to the company’s Chairman and CEO; and she served as Director of Communications for both PJM/Philadelphia Electric Company and Getty Oil Company. Hamilton started her career with a position in the Delaware Governor’s Energy Office, and most recently ran her own consulting and lobbying firm, AlfordHamilton Associates.

Hamilton advocates for clients on the local, state and federal levels and has developed a specialization in funding advocacy. She represents a wide variety of private sector and non-profit clients in the healthcare, housing, and construction industries, among many others.

A native Delawarean and resident of Brandywine Hundred, Hamilton is a graduate of the University of Delaware (BS, 1976) majoring in geography and economics with advanced degree work in economics.
