Glaser Joins Cozen O’Connor’s Public Strategies Group

Washington, D.C., Feb. 2, 2015—With the addition of Ahaviah “Havi” Diane Glaser as a member in the Public Strategies Group, Cozen O’Connor continues to increase the depth of its health care policy experience. Glaser was previously staff director for the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Health Care and Senior Health Counsel to U.S. Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV. She will be resident in Washington, D.C.

“Many businesses today are grappling with health care policy and regulations, and they turn to Cozen O’Connor for help navigating this uncertain terrain,” said Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies Chairman Mark Alderman. “Havi’s government and policy experience spans many aspects of health care and includes FDA issues as well as policy matters with generic pharmaceuticals. She is a great addition to the Cozen O’Connor team.”

Glaser brings two decades of experience with legal, legislative, consulting and campaign work to her new role. “Cozen O’Connor’s Public Strategies Group is known for its sophisticated grasp of issues and its ability to steer clients through complicated matters at the federal, state and local level,” Glaser said. “I’m excited to be working with my new colleagues and assisting clients with health care, pharmaceutical and regulatory challenges.”

In her most recent role, she worked as Senior Health Counsel for Sen. Rockefeller of West Virginia, who chaired the Commerce Committee as well as the Finance Subcommittee on Health Care. While there, she worked closely with the Senator to establish his health care agenda. In addition to organizing hearings, she represented the Senator in both legislative negotiations and regulatory oversight efforts. She worked closely with Committee staff, his state staff, health care providers, state and national advocates and state administrative partners to address issues of particular importance to West Virginians as well as to all Americans in need of affordable, quality health care.

Before that, she founded Glaser Consulting, a health law and policy firm focused on delivering comprehensive advocacy services. She also served as Vice President for Policy & Strategic Alliances for the Generic Pharmaceutical Association and worked for AARP, serving as the organization’s federal lobbyist on Medicare, Medicaid and pharmaceuticals. In addition to representing other key health care stakeholders in other advocacy organizations, Glaser taught Health Law and Policy for the LLM Program at Washington College of Law. Earlier in her career, Glaser served as an associate with several international law firms.

Glaser earned her B.S. with honors from the University of California at Berkley and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
