Blake Rutherford is a member Cozen O'Connor's Government & Regulatory Practice as well as the Public Strategies Practice. Rutherford has spent his career navigating issues at the intersection of law, politics and communications. He has served as chief of staff to the attorneys general of Arkansas and Pennsylvania.
Prior to entering state government in Pennsylvania, Blake was vice president of McLarty Companies, a fourth-generation family office led by former White House Chief of Staff Thomas F. “Mack” McLarty. Before becoming chief of staff to the Arkansas Attorney General, he was director of public communications at Stone Ward, a full-service advertising and public relations firm with offices in Little Rock, Ark., and Chicago.
After law school, he practiced at Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP where his representations included the grand opening of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center, the Clinton Global Initiative, the Democratic Party of Arkansas, and the Wesley K. Clark for President campaign. Prior to joining WLJ, Blake worked on the Clinton-Gore '96 campaign as well as Gore 2000. He is a graduate of Middlebury College and the University of Arkansas School of Law.
