Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries Endorses Zohran Mamdani

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries endorsed Zohran Mamdani for New York City mayor, citing Mamdani’s focus on the affordability crisis and a commitment to serving all New Yorkers while urging Democrats to oppose Republican extremism. The endorsement follows Governor Kathy Hochul’s backing and comes amid Mayor Eric Adams’ recent endorsement of former adversary independent mayoral Candidate Andrew Cuomo. Early voting runs October 25 through November 2; Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, with polls open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Mayor Eric Adams Announces Citywide 15 mph Speed Limit for E-bikes

Mayor Eric Adams announced that New York City’s 15 mph speed limit for ebikes is now in effect citywide, applying to all e-bikes, e-scooters, and pedal-assist commercial bicycles. The NYPD will handle enforcement similar to motor vehicles, with an initial emphasis on education that includes new signage, outreach to delivery app workers, and warnings for first-time offenders.
