NEW YORK, June 7, 2021 — Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that Rose Christ, senior principal of the firm’s Public Strategies Group, was named to Crain’s Notable LGBTQ Leaders and Executives list. To find the honorees, Crain’s consulted with trusted sources in the LGBTQ and general business communities and carefully vetted the nominations submitted by firms or individuals headquartered in the metropolitan area or having a major influence or presence there. Ultimately the LGBTQ leaders and executives were selected for their career accomplishments, mentorship of others, and involvement in community and industry organizations, representing all manner of industries and occupations, including media, finance, government, health care, professional services, tech, and the arts.
Christ is a senior member of the firm’s Public Strategies’ New York City-based government affairs practice. Christ holds leadership positions in nonprofits pursuing LGBT equality and economic growth. She is President of Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC, a member of the Young Professionals Steering Committee of the New York Building Congress, and a newly appointed member of the Queens District Attorney’s LGBT Criminal Justice Task Force. Her recent successes, prior to COVID-19, include securing city funds for two dynamic arts institutions: $65 million for the Studio Museum in Harlem to build a new building on 125th Street and $4.3 million for The Whitney Museum to construct a large-scale public art project by David Hammons. For the Whitney, Christ also advocated to amend the State Hudson River Park Act to permit installation. Additionally, Christ was a Stonewall Democratic Club and Queens Borough Hall LGBT Pride Month Celebration honoree and a City & State Magazine’s Top 10 LGBT Pride Watch List honoree.
