About Darren

Darren concentrates his practice on the state of Illinois and federal government relations, with a specific focus on lobbying the Illinois General Assembly in Springfield, Ill. With decades of experience in state government and the private sector, he helps clients navigate a wide variety of public policy issues.

Darren’s prior experience includes roles as the executive director of the state government relations team in Illinois for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the world’s largest options exchange, deputy general counsel and director of Government Affairs for the Illinois Housing Development Authority, and special assistant to former Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan.

Darren also has vast multi-client experience with government relations and lobbying in the private sector, and held previous positions as senior vice president at McGuireWoods Consulting and, more recently, senior principal and member at Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies. In both these roles, he developed and managed a diverse client roster of Fortune 100 companies – advocating at both the state and federal level.

Darren earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his law degree from Capital University Law and Graduate Center.
