About Maya

Maya Wharton monitors and analyzes legislative and regulatory activity for our Philadelphia team.

Prior to joining the firm, Maya served as a policy fellow in the office of the Philadelphia City Council President, conducting policy research, drafting briefs and legislative language, and supporting cross-sector initiatives in housing, workforce development, and public health. She also interned for Pennsylvania Congressman Dwight Evans, assisting with constituent services, hearings, and legislative outreach. Earlier, Maya supported equity-focused organizational strategy and planning as an intern with Just Strategies, collaborating with nonprofit and philanthropic partners.

Maya earned her Master of Science in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, magna cum laude, from Howard University.
