About Sofia

Sofia Papoutsis is a legislative analyst with the Illinois Public Strategies group. In this role, she monitors and analyzes public policy, legislation, and regulatory activities at all levels of government.

Prior to joining the firm, Sofia worked with the City of Peoria and Peoria County as an intern for their Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity. She also served as an AmeriCorps summer VISTA associate with Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, a non-profit which strives to provide affordable housing to low and moderate income communities and communities of color. Additionally, Sofia was a field and policy research intern for Betsy Dirksen Londrigan’s IL-13 congressional campaign during the 2020 election cycle.

Sofia recently earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in political science with minors in public administration and biochemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University and was a four-year letter winner in women’s soccer.
