Few Questions Answered in Bizarre Case of Stolen City Property

Earlier this month, the city-owned Ford Explorer belonging to 4th District Councilmember Curtis Jones Jr. was reportedly stolen from the home of his driver. While the vehicle was later recovered mere blocks away from where it was reportedly stolen, detectives have not yet concluded how the SUV was moved, nor who is responsible. Shapiro Endorsed by Philadelphia Firefighters’ Union

Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has been endorsed by the Philadelphia Firefighters’ & Paramedics’ Union, Local 22. The endorsement was far from guaranteed; in recent elections, the union endorsed Republicans like Donald Trump in his bid for reelection to the presidency and U.S. Senate candidate Kathy Barnette. Shapiro has agreed to preserve Act 111, which allows for collective bargaining among emergency workers in Pennsylvania. WHYY has more.

Allegheny County Executive Fitzgerald Vetoes Two Bills

As expected, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald has vetoed a bill that would prevent fracking in county parks. Fitzgerald also vetoed a bill that would require Allegheny County Council confirm director-level appointees by the Chief Executive, a process that is already typically used and is currently outlined in the administrative code.
